‘True Blood’: 15 Sexiest Hookups

Even though Sookie Stackhouse swears off men pretty much every season, True Blood ‘s resident faerie has gone through nearly half a dozen love interests in almost as many seasons. This year, her new potential flame is a fellow faerie hybrid named Ben Flynn Rob Kazinsky , who suddenly came into her life last week — which naturally makes us worry about who Ben really is. But which of Sookie’s love interests has been the best for her?

Let’s take a look at the competition:. But it always goes back to the fact that he was initially contracted by Queen Sophie-Anne Evan Rachel Wood to spy on Sookie because she wanted to drain her blood so she could walk in the sun. Sure, he fell for Sookie in the process, but how can you come back from that?

Leave it to True Blood to figure out one last stake to twist into the hearts of its grating, Big Bad to date and having him die in a two-second explosion. Eric and Pam’s triumph is basically just them becoming rich and getting.

For seven seasons between and , True Blood was the destination for all fans of twisted, uncensored, and insanely soapy vampire drama. Following dozens of attractive of people who did bad things whenever possible, regardless of whether they were a vampire or not, the series was as soapy as it was addictive — and as infuriating as it was filled to the brim with far too many characters.

Boasting a series-spanning love square unlike any other HBO drama, True Blood was renowned for its ability to test the patience of fans, and to ruin and redeem characters at the drop of a hat, whenever it really felt like it. However, regardless of whether you were Team Bill, Team Eric, Team Alcide, or maybe even Team “sick and tired of Sookie Stackhouse,” there’s one thing that can be agreed upon. The star power that the series amassed is still impressive as ever ten years after its premiere, especially as certain cast members’ stars are only continuing to rise within the world of Hollywood.

In a show with an ever expanding cast, it’s hard to narrow things down to a manageable list of familiar faces and names. However, here, we’ve tried to pull together a list of some of the most recognizable and iconic characters to check in on all these years later. Having been made a vampire around the time of the Civil War, Bill has been a native of the steamy town of Bon Temps for as long as he has been alive and undead. Perhaps more damaged than any other character on the series, he sways back and forth between the dark and the light, almost always coming back to the light in the end because of Sookie.

After putting away the fangs and the signature Southern drawl, British actor Stephen Moyer has found plenty of jobs to keep himself busy. He had a supporting role in the Will Smith led film Concussion. He has been married to co-star Anna Paquin since True Blood held nothing back in its satire of organized religion, and you’d have to look no further than Sarah Newlin to see a prime example of that.

As a member of the televangelist religion Fellowship of the Sun, Sarah is adamantly anti-vampire to the extreme, taking part in every measure she can to ensure that the vampires are not accepted into society.

Bad news first: Eric Northman appears to be off the market. But she doesn’t play her very well. Of course it wasn’t too exclusive, since ASkars fans have seen the two of them at multiple events, including a soccer game — huge for the Swede, who worships football as a religion. Then again, he was also snapped with on a boat with his buddy and some teenage girls yes, I mean Willa Holland , so who knows what’s true.

If this latest “confirmation” is true, score one for ERW. Major upgrade.

‘True Blood’ recap: Is Warlow Sookie’s protector? Will Eric kill Pam?

He is a vampire, slightly over one thousand years old, and is first introduced in the first novel, Dead Until Dark and appears in all subsequent novels. Since the book series is told from the first person perspective of Sookie Stackhouse, what readers perceive of his character is influenced by what Sookie comprehends. HBO ‘s television series True Blood is based on this book series and the character of Eric Northman is portrayed somewhat differently.

True Blood’s love triangle was a go from the second we saw Eric end of his life made his death one of the most upsetting moments to date.

Charlaine Harris introduced the world to the telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse and her vampire love interests, Eric Northam and Bill Compton, in , with her supernatural novel Dead After Dark. Thanks to Ball’s development and that extra socio-political subtext, it took less than two seasons before the Sookie Stackhouse books and the True Blood television show diverged, with only occasional threads binding them together. Featuring seven seasons and 80 episodes, a whole lot went down for Sookie, her paramours, friends, and enemies in True Blood.

But figuring out the entire story can be a bit daunting for newcomers or folks who haven’t watched the show in a while. So pull up a seat at Merlotte’s or Fangtasia, if that suits better as we explore and explain the entire True Blood timeline. Vampires had always existed in the world of True Blood , but it wasn’t until the advent of synthetic blood that vampires could reveal their identities without fear of reprisal. The sleepy Louisiana town of Bon Temps gets its first vampire visitor in Bill Compton Stephen Moyers , a former Confederate soldier returned to his ancestral home more than a hundred years later.

Telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse Anna Paquin , considered a weirdo in the town thanks to her power, quickly realizes her mind-reading doesn’t extend to vampires.

THEN AND NOW: The cast of ‘True Blood’ 10 years later

True Blood had 7 seasons and it ended back in But fans still remember this great series and want to know what their favorite characters are doing now. Who got an Emmy? Who married the highest-paid actress? And who came out of the closet?

Vampires had always existed in the world of True Blood, but it wasn’t until the well as her unique blood, hits the ears of vampire sheriff and bar owner Eric Northman Plus, Sookie and the werewolf Alcide are finally dating.

The Vampire sheriff of Louisiana ‘s Area 5 , which encompasses the small town of Bon Temps , Eric owns the vampire bar Fangtasia in the neighboring town of Shreveport. Playing a major role through the series’ first, second , third , fourth , fifth , sixth , and seventh seasons, he was last seen on the series’ finale episode, ” Thank You “, in the series’ seventh, and final, season. Eric is shown to be calculating yet loyal and generally willing to absolve humans that aggravate him, unless they have grievously crossed him.

His loyalty as Progeny to his Maker Godric was so strong, that he fell to his knees in tears when Godric decided to end his life by meeting the sun ” I Will Rise Up “. Eric demanded to burn beside him and claimed that he could not live without Godric. The only thing that kept Eric from meeting the sun was Godric’s last command as Eric’s maker, telling Eric not to stay on the roof with him. Eric has a great capacity for loyalty and affection, considering vampire nature.

He demonstrated this with his progeny Pam ” Fresh Blood ” and his growing love and affection for Sookie. When he is reunited with his vampire sister Nora , they show great affection for one another. Eric claims he would do anything for Nora. Being a calm and methodical individual, Eric is mostly in control of his emotions. He rarely loses his temper, but has shown a great capacity for violence when pushed. Eric is unconcerned about being viewed as “the bad guy” merely seeing his actions as a means to an end.

Eric Northman

Over seven seasons, True Blood featured many relationships and characters getting together — and not just Sookie. As tends to be the case with television shows, not all of them were a good idea. Something that fans wanted to know throughout the series, especially as it neared the end, was who Sookie would end up with. Sadly, the decision made regarding her love life was one that hurt the show. That was true even though it wasn’t the wrong move for her character.

Sookie wasn’t the only one who made bad decisions about love, however.

Over seven seasons, True Blood featured many relationships and After Eric healed Jason using his blood, he told him, “When you dream of me, This happened while he was dating and then engaged to Arlene, who.

I was like, ‘Alright, I’ve had enough. Anyway, With live-action adaptations of teeny-bopper vamper books like Twilight and The Vampire Diaries making younger girls across the globe go into fits of fangirling, it was great to see adults getting their fair share of a little blood-sucking fun adapted from the Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse series. It was part camp, part murder mystery, wrapped in a fun, leathery, spankable bow. Aside from all the sex, the show actually had a solid plotline upon its induction even when you added the mind-reading waitress Sookie Stackhouse, her vampire boyfriend, Bill Compton, and her shape-shifting boss, Sam Merlotte.

The intense acting only made the show all the more fun to watch as you were either left fanning yourself from all the sexual tension or covering your eyes from the copious amounts of blood. In fact, I got so into the show, that I began reading its source material, Dead Until Dark , midway into the season. It was a bit of a racing game for me, as each episode more or less corresponded with a chapter in the mystery novel.

However, curiosity got the better of me and I would finish the book before the season finale. I was converting friends and family members and making sure they tuned in, proposing to host my own True Blood parties. Yours truly was a devoted True Blood fang banger. When Season 2 premiered, I was ready to see all I had read in Living Dead in Dallas the second book of the series brought to the screen — albeit, with its few creative changes. For the most part, I was pleased with how the show stayed relatively close to the book, and when the show was renewed for Season 3, I was still a devotee hoping for more of the same.

However, when Season 3 premiered, I was none too happy with a lot of the changes. Various characters from the book franchise were introduced in Season 3, I suppose to add more drama to the already drama-laced show.
